International Women’s Day (the 8th of March) is a moment to celebrate progress, recognise lived experience, and continue pushing for meaningful change.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2026 is “Balance the Scales” - a call to dismantle systemic barriers and champion justice, equity and opportunity for women and girls at every stage of life and career. It’s a reminder that true equality isn’t achieved by good intentions alone; it requires us to rethink how workplaces are structured, how leadership is supported, and how women’s lived experiences inform lasting change.
At Tillo, we’re marking the occasion not just with reflection - but with conversation, learning and action throughout the month of March.
This International Women’s Day, I’ll be hosting a live conversation with entrepreneur and board leader Fleur Hicks.
Fleur has recently been consulting with Tillo on marketing and sales best practice, and is a true pioneer whose journey from founder to boardroom leader has been shaped by ambition, resilience and honesty. From scaling businesses to earning CEO of the Year in 2021, Fleur has built a career defined by impact, while navigating the realities that many women experience but few openly discuss.
During this Q&A session, Fleur will share candid reflections on a number of topics including what it takes to lead with confidence and authenticity as a woman, both inside and outside of the boardroom, the realities of navigating career progression alongside major life transitions and how challenges like motherhood and perimenopause influence leadership journeys.
This will be an honest and inspiring conversation that connects the global theme of balancing the scales with real experiences from the front lines of business leadership - providing insight and encouragement for everyone at Tillo.
Because gender equity isn’t just a women’s issue. It’s a leadership issue. A culture issue. A business issue.
I’m also incredibly proud to be the SLT sponsor for WISE - Women Innovating, Supporting & Elevating, Tillo’s women’s network.
WISE is committed to driving gender equity and building an inclusive culture at Tillo. Our mission is to foster a community where women can thrive in their careers through connection, support and professional development.
We bring this to life through insightful panels, skill-building workshops and collaborative events that create space for growth and shared learning. Crucially, WISE actively welcomes and partners with allies across the business to champion equality and amplify our collective impact.
Being a feminist simply means believing in the social, economic and political equality of all genders - something we can all get behind.
In a volatile world where patriarchal views are becoming increasingly normalised and misogyny can still keep women “in their place,” WISE is about creating a safe, empowering space for women to thrive, alongside allies across the business. It’s also about leaning into the shoots of positivity. For me personally, that includes normalising conversations that historically haven’t had space in professional environments.
I’m excited to see the impact WISE will have at Tillo and to work with Viv and Kori on this important initiative.
International Women’s Day is more than a date in the calendar, it’s a catalyst.
Throughout March, Tillo will host a series of initiatives designed to celebrate women across our organisation, encourage open dialogue and strengthen the systems that enable equity to thrive. From leadership conversations to development opportunities, our focus is on creating lasting impact, not just symbolic recognition.
Balancing the scales requires sustained effort, courageous conversations and collective accountability. At Tillo, we are committed to building a workplace where women are not only supported, but visible, heard and empowered to lead at every level.
International Women’s Day gives us a moment to reflect. What matters most is what we build from it.
And at Tillo, we are building intentionally, which makes me proud.
